Our Mission
PhiLAWsophy.ai is a publication about the relationship between artificial intelligence and the structures that govern public life — the law, institutions, democratic processes, markets, and the philosophical questions that underlie them all.
We believe that the most important conversations happening right now sit at the intersection of technology and governance, and that most of them are not being had clearly enough. We exist to improve that.
What We Cover
PhiLAWsophy.ai publishes three types of articles:
- Educational — Explanations of existing laws, legal frameworks, regulatory structures, doctrines, landmark cases, and governance concepts for readers who want a clear foundation.
- Opinion — Analysis and commentary evaluating the impact, fairness, risks, or consequences of laws, policies, and legal change.
- News — Coverage of current legal developments, pending legislation, regulatory updates, and newly enacted rules relevant to technology, AI, and society.
Who We Write For
We write for practicing attorneys, legal academics, policy professionals, technologists interested in governance and ethics, and intellectually curious readers who want clear, honest analysis rather than hot takes or empty summary.
We do not assume legal expertise, but we do assume intellectual seriousness.
Editorial Philosophy
Good legal and policy writing should be accurate, transparent about its reasoning, and useful to both specialist and nonspecialist readers. It should not sacrifice precision for accessibility, or accessibility for display of expertise.
Opinion at PhiLAWsophy.ai reflects the views of individual contributors. The publication aims for intellectual diversity and welcomes well-reasoned arguments from across the legal and political spectrum.
